Birthday Projects

We've been working on a few projects over here for a bunch of family birthdays that are coming up in April. Here are two of my favorites.

This one is for my mom and I saw the idea here. I absolutely LOVED the Seed String Garland and I'm hoping that Mom does as well.

The next is for my adorable little niece and still needs a few finishing touches, but I think she'll like it. Can you guess her name and how old she is turning?  ;)

A few more projects to go and we will be ready for the gaggle of March/April birthdays in our family.

More like a Mom

I'm constantly on a mission to learn new things. Recently, I've tried crocheting and I picked it up fairly quickly, if I do say so myself. My husband tells me I'm becoming more and more like a mom each year. He insists I should change my blog title to Domestically ENabled, but I am still learning. *** Hence, the slight title change.***

Keep in mind, I still cannot cook, I burn most things I try to bake, and I don't do the laundry. In our early married years, I turned a few of his things pink and I haven't really been asked to help out with laundry since. As far as food goes, even my kids don't ask me for anything tougher to make than a sandwich or something that can be microwaved. However, I do absolutely love to organize, I can clean a kitchen in no time, and I do all of the family finances. See, there are some benefits of being married to me. ;)

Even though we've been married for over 11 years and I've actually been a mom for 9 1/2 years, he seems to think that NOW I am becoming more like a mom. And as I opened my Christmas presents of yarn and a book on learning to knit, I realized that I am perfectly happy with his observation. So, if you are in need of an adorable scarf, I'm your girl!

My Amazing Hubby

Just wanted to share my husband's amazing idea to encourage our children to help out more around the house. Since our 9 year-old has been doing just that for the last week, he made her a "Get Out of Trouble FREE" card (that can also be redeemed for staying up an extra 30 minutes at night). This just might be the best new invention in our family. Yay for the man that helps me stay sane! You rock, hubby!
